Homemade granola is an awesome treat and gift. It's cheap and really easy to make, and you can add whatever you want! Hello personalized granola! Here's a quick recipe I saw on the Katie Brown Workshop once upon a time: Granola. Best of luck!

I just finished making a bunch of 8x10 photo prints and CDs from our family get-together of two weeks ago. Those will get passed out at my grand-nieces's 3rd birthday party tomorrow. For the niece herself, who is obsessed with animals, I bought a bunch of toy sea creatures at Michaels, and added a shiny red carrying case to fit them in. I think the carry case really ups the cool factor.

She's also getting a "My Little Pony" wall calendar that cost $1 at Michaels. For anyone who needs a bunch of inexpensive Christmas gifts, the calendar department at Michael's is a goldmine.

A few years ago, everyone got a jar of my homemade spicy almond-macadamia nut butter.

I think my coolest gifts ever were the pocket size sewing kits I made for the ladies in the family about 25 years ago. I bought some of those 2-3/8 x 1-7/8 x 1/2" enameled pillbox tins and added magnets to hold pins and needles. I cut notched pieces of cardboard to wrap different colors of thread and heat sealed tiny plastic ziplock bags for safety pins and spare buttons. I don't remember that anyone else made a fuss about them, but I thought they were way cool. Should have made one for myself. ;-)

Oh, this is such a great idea! I'm in the process of crocheting a blanket for my parents for Christmas. I started it last Christmas, figuring it will take that long!
